The Qur’an is the holy book of the religion of Islam, and, according to Muslims, it contains the divine words of the one God, whose name is “Allah,” revealed through Gabriel to the prophet of Islam, Muhammad ibn Abdullah.

Muhammad ibn Abdullah (full name in Arabic: أَبُو الْقَاسِم مُحَمَّد بْن عَبْد الله بْن عَبْد المُطَّلِب بْن هَاشِم; c. 570–632 CE) is the founder and prophet of Islam and, according to Muslims, the final prophet in the line of divine messengers, the recipient of the Qur’an, and the restorer of monotheism (the Hanif religion).
